NightShiftAgents for Staffing
The candidates you already paid to find get re-engaged. The client who went quiet gets a reason to call.
A staffing firm's most expensive asset is a candidate database nobody has time to work. NightShiftAgents reads Bullhorn, JobAdder or Loxo, re-engages candidates whose last contact is stale against your open orders, follows up submittals, checks in with placed candidates at 30, 60 and 90 days, and reports fill rate and gross margin weekly. It does not screen, interview, submit or set a rate.
Night Shift is set up for your industry. Written for the owner of a staffing or recruiting firm. Runs on your machine, with your accounts.
The problem
Every placement starts with a search of a database that already contained the candidate.
- 01
You pay for job boards to find people who are already in your ATS with a phone number and a resume from 2024. Nobody has called them since.
- 02
A submittal went to the client Monday. It is Thursday. No one has followed up, and the candidate is talking to two other recruiters.
- 03
A placed contractor's 30-day check-in never happened. The client's first call is to say it is not working out.
A working day
The same day, before and after.
Before
- 7:30 AM
New job order. Recruiter starts a LinkedIn search. The ATS has forty matches from last year that no one will look at.
- 11:00 AM
Client who placed three people last year has not sent an order in five months. Nobody has asked why.
- 2:00 PM
Four submittals from earlier this week with no client response. Follow-up is on someone's list.
- 4:30 PM
Placed contractor calls to quit. First anyone has heard from him since day one.
- 7:00 PM
Owner asks for fill rate by recruiter. It takes an hour in Bullhorn to assemble a guess.
After install
- 7:30 AM
Morning brief: for the new order, 38 candidates in your ATS match the skills and location. 22 with stale contact got a drafted re-engagement note overnight. Six replied before 9.
- 11:00 AM
The quiet client got a check-in draft last week with a note on the three placements' anniversaries. They sent an order this morning.
- 2:00 PM
All four submittals got a day-2 follow-up drafted in the recruiter's Drafts. Two clients replied.
- 4:30 PM
Placed contractor got a 30-day check-in at day 30. He mentioned the shift issue then. The account manager fixed it in week five.
- 7:00 PM
Friday's report: fill rate, time to fill, submittals to interviews, GM by recruiter and by client. A file, ready.

Read this part
What it does not do.
- It does not screen or interview candidates.
- It does not submit a candidate to a client or set a bill or pay rate.
- It does not source from job boards or scrape LinkedIn.
- It does not send anything without your approval — unless you switch that agent to auto-send. Anything to a client is held by default.
- It does not touch onboarding paperwork, I-9s, payroll or compliance documents.

A coordinator schedules interviews live and handles paperwork. The agents do not. They work the database and the follow-ups every night. One extra placement a quarter from the existing database covers the year.

The catch
What owners in your industry ask first.
Questions
Frequently asked.
- Which ATS does it read?
- Bullhorn, JobAdder, Loxo and Crelate directly. Others by export. The Agent Improvement Plan names the fields.
- How does matching work?
- Skills, title history, location and availability fields in your ATS against the order. It shows the reason for each match and does not score anything it cannot see.
- Can it text candidates?
- If your ATS texting exposes drafting, yes, under the same approval rule.
- Temp, perm or both?
- Both. Check-in cadences and margin math are set per line during install.
- What does the desk report do when a bill rate is missing?
- That placement's GM shows as unavailable and is listed at the top so someone fixes the record.
Under 15 minutes of questions. Then your staffing night shift runs.
You get a written Agent Improvement Plan the same day: which of the agents above, in what order, and what it costs. The industry is already filled in.
